Marija Vasić

Marija Vasić was born in Novi Sad, where she completed both elementary and secondary music school at Isidor Bajić. She graduated from the Academy of Arts in the class of Professor Marijan Egić and later completed specialist studies in chamber music under Professor Sonja Antunić. During her education, she won numerous awards at national and international competitions, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.
Since 2003, she has been employed in the Opera Orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, and since 2008, she has also been a member of the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the Zrenjanin Philharmonic, Subotica Symphony Orchestra, and Vojvodina Chamber Orchestra. As a piccolo player, she has also played with the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre, and the Orchestra for Peace (Italy).
In addition to her orchestral engagements, she performs in chamber ensembles as both a flutist and a piccolo player.
Since 2020, she has been a member of the Universe ensemble, which was founded with the idea of presenting the entire flute family to audiences, complemented by piano accompaniment. Notably, the ensemble has organized educational concerts such as Universe Through Novi Sad and Music Tells Stories, designed to bring classical music closer to children. Alongside these projects, the ensemble has also performed numerous concerts featuring works by domestic and international composers from the 20th and 21st centuries.
