Branislav Gagic

Branislav Gagić, was born in Zrenjanin. He attended primary and secondary music school Josif Marinković in Zrenjanin in the class of prof. Tapai Vendel, studied at FMU in Belgrade in the class of prof. Vinko Valečić.
During his schooling, he participated several times in provincial, republican, federal and international competitions and each time won first or second prizes.
He participated in master classes of top brass players: Krunoslav Babić – Croatia; Joran Kristiansen – Sweden; Eric Fritz – Mexico; Jozsef Csikota – Hungary; Laszlo Marosi – USA; Dubravko Marković – Serbia, …
He participated in the work of numerous chamber ensembles: Zrenjanin Trombone Quartet, Zrenjanin Trombone Duo, Vojvodina Trombone Duo, Vojvodina Trombone Trio, Belgrade Trombone Quartet, Quartet Plus, Bid Band…
So far, he has participated in the work of several orchestras: Vojvodina Youth Philharmonic, Youth Philharmonic – Borislav Pašćan, International Youth Philharmonic in Pécs – Hungary, Belgrade Philharmonic, Zrenjanin City Wind Orchestra, Military Orchestra of the Army regions, SNP Opera Orchestra – Novi Sad, Zrenjanin Philharmonic, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Garbage Philharmonic (Emir Kusturica), …
As a soloist, he performed in all major cities of the former Yugoslavia. He performed as a soloist with the Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra and the Novi Sad Chamber Orchestra.
He was a professor of brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, horn, baritone horn, tenor horn and tuba) at the music school in Požarevac, IsidorBajić in NoviSad, he helped to establish the trombone class at the Kosta Manojlović Music School – Smederevo, and since 1999 year teaches at the Josif Marinković music school in Zrenjanin. His students, as soloists, members of chamber ensembles, or orchestras, participate and achieve significant results in numerous national and international competitions, so far his students have won over five hundred mostly first prizes in national and international competitions. Several times his students, the wind orchestra and he as a mentor-conductor received the AP Vojvodina Provincial Council Awards for talents.
He won the City of Zrenjanin Award and Awards of the Association of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia.
All his students who graduated from high school of music successfully passed the entrance exam for Music Academies or Colleges!
He conducted the united wind orchestra of the music schools Josif Marinković – Zrenjanin, IsidorBajić – Novi Sad and KostaManojlović – Zemun, with which he had a series of notable concerts in Belgrade, Zemun, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Loznica, as well as in neighboring countries – Hungary and Romania…
With the united wind orchestar, he participated in several national and international competitions and won several first or second prizes. He conducted several times the project International Wind Orchestra in Hungary, Romania and Russia.
With the City Wind Orchestra of Zrenjanin, the School Wind Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Josif Marinković Music School, as well as with the Joint Wind Orchestra of Zrenjanin – Novi Sad and Zrenjanin – Zemun, he won about twenty first and as many second prizes at the Republic International Competitions!
He works intensively on propagating brass instruments in his environment.
He participated in the work of several juries: Republic Competition of Music Schools of Serbia – Belgrade; International Novi Sad meetings of brass players – Novi Sad; International brass competition Davorin Jenko – Belgrade; International brass band competition – Pancevo; May meetings of brass players – Lazarevac, Meetings of student homes of Vojvodina Domijada – Zrenjanin, was a member of the jury at the International brass band competitions and WASBE qualifications in Baja, Hodmezivašarhelj, Balatonfeldvar, Morohalom, Kištelek and Budapest – Hungary; Kaliningrad – Russia; Oradea, Csikzentsimons and Corondus – Romania; Begej Fest Zrenjanin – Serbia, …
He organized: Five International Festivals of Music and Games; Eighteen Vojvodina BRAS Festivals; Thirteen International Wind Band Competitions Begej Fest; Eleven Regional Conferences of WASBE – World Association of Brass Bands.
He is the president of the Association of Wind Orchestras of Vojvodina; WASBE – World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles representative for Serbia and coordinator for the former Yugoslav Republics.. He is the president of the association of brass pedagogues of Vojvodina, the president of the management board and the conductor of the Zrenjanin City Wind Orchestra, which, in addition to concert activities, also organizes concerts and cultural events!
