Precategory (up to age 12, 5 mins max)
A freely selected repertoire.
Category A (up to age 14, 8 mins max)
A freely selected repertoire (at least two pieces of different character).
Category B (up to age 16, 10 mins max)
A
freely selected repertoire (at least two pieces of different character).
Category C (up to age 18, 15 mins max)
A
freely selected repertoire (two or more pieces from at least two music epochs).
Category D (up to age 20, 20 mins max)
Obligatory:
a. 1st movement either from a concert or sonata, or
b. 2nd and 3rd movement either from a concert or sonata, or
c. Variations, or
d. At least two contrasting movements from a suite. .
In addition to obligatory, candidates play a freely selected repertoire (at least two pieces of different character).
Category E (up to age 30, 30 mins max)
Obligatory:
a. 1st movement either from a concert or sonata, or
b. 2nd and 3rd movement either from a concert or sonata, or
c. Variations.
In addition to obligatory, candidates play a freely selected repertoire (at least two pieces of different character).
Notes for Cat. D and Cat. E
If the concert and/or the sonata consists of four movements, instead of 1st movement only, candidates must play 1st and 2nd movement, and instead of 2nd and 3rd movement, candidates must play 3rd and 4th movement.
Performing of a Cadenza is not obligatory.
NOTES
The age limit in each category is determined by March 4, 2010.
In all categories candidate may play repertoire by following scores.
Each candidate can enter the competition in two categories maximum, in each age category and in an older category, but with different programme.
The organization will provide a piano accompanist for all categories.

Category A – pupils from elementary music schools, or appropriate music institutions, 15 mins max;
A freely selected repertoire.
Category B – pupils from secondary music schools, or appropriate music institutions, 20 mins max;
A freely selected repertoire.
Category C – tudents of academies of music/conservatoires (without any age limitations), 25 mins max;
A freely selected repertoire.

The highest study level among the members of the ensemble determines the entry level (category) in this discipline.
