a. One movement either of a Sonatina or Sonata, or
b. Variations.

Category C (up to age 16, 15 mins max)
Obligatory:
a. One movement of a Sonata, or
b. Variations, or
c. 1st movement of a piano concert
In addition to obligatory, candidates play a freely selected repertoire (one or more pieces).
Category D (up to age 19, 20 mins max)
Obligatory:
a. One movement of a Sonata, or
b. Variations, or
c. 1st movement of a piano concert
In addition to obligatory, candidates play a freely selected repertoire (one or more pieces).
Category E (up to age 35)
Stage I (20 mins max)
A freely selected repertoire.
Stage II (20 mins max)
Obligatory - one virtuous etude.
In addition to obligatory, candidates play a freely selected repertoire (one or more pieces, incl. 1st movement of a piano concert).
NOTES for Piano Solo
In all categories candidates will play from memory.
The age limit in each category is determined by February 13, 2010.
Each candidate can enter the competition in two categories maximum, in each age category and in an older category, but with different programme;
The organization will provide a piano accompanist for the Cat. C, D, E. The service will be charged an additional fee as shown at Article 12.

NON-WIND CHAMBER ENSEMBLES
Category A – pupils from elementary music schools, or appropriate music institutions, 10 mins max;
A freely selected repertoire.
Category B – pupils from secondary music schools, or appropriate music institutions, 15 mins max (for all ensembles except string quartet), i.e. 25 mins max (for string quartet);
A freely selected repertoire.
Category C – students of academies of music/conservatoires (without any age limitations), 30 mins max;
A freely selected repertoire.

The highest study level among the members of the ensemble determines the entry level (category) in this discipline.
