FEDOR VRTAČNIK
Serbia
was born in Sremska Mitrovica in 1963, where he started his music education as a violinist. He continued schooling at the Military Music High School in Belgrade (departments of percussion and bass) and graduated from the department of music theory and pedagogy of Sarajevo Music Academy. He completed his education in 2005, with a diploma from the Berklee College of Music (department of Arranging and orchestration techniques), with Prof. Jerry Gates.
As arranger and orchestrator, he has cooperated with renowned world orchestras: California Philharmonic Orchestra, USA (full-time orchestrator); Wollongong Symphony Orchestra, Austria; Conservatorio di Musica Cesena, Italy (full-time orchestrator); Brandenburg Sinfonia-Leatherhead, England; Philips Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands (full-time arranger); Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Republic; Netherland Theater Orchestra, Netherlands; Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Greece; the Dance Orchestra of RTV Sarajevo and Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra (full-time arranger), Bosnia and Herzegovina; Big Band of RTS etc. As an arranger, he has cooperated with a number of world-famous artists: Placido Domingo, Hose Carreras, Alessandro Safina, John Innes, Nino Gvetadze, Kee Marcello...
He has cooperated with almost all pop artists from the ex-YU territory at the orchestration and arranging jobs. Major projects: "Symphonic Variation on Rock Theme", (Netherlands – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Greece); "Movie music for Symphonic Orchestra" (England – Netherlands); "Phantom of the Opera" – Symphonic suite (USA); "Memory of Presley" (USA); "Christmas Night 2007" – New York Philharmonic; "Stari" – opening ceremony for the Mostar’s old bridge (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He is a member of the following music associations: "Sibelius Music" (England), "Berklee Music" (USA), and ASCAP – The American Society of Composer–Authors (USA).
He is the conductor and arranger of the Novi Sad Brass Orchestra.
